Travel Info · Baggage

Restricted & prohibited items.

What you can and cannot take on board — in your carry-on (cabin) baggage and in checked baggage — as per the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA).

Safety & security

The rules at a glance.

The Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority has prohibited certain items from being taken into a security restricted / sterile area of an aerodrome, and into the cabin and cargo/baggage compartment of aircraft, for safety and security reasons.

Carry-on baggage

Prohibited Items listed in Appendix A must not be in your carry-on (cabin) baggage or on your person while in a security restricted / sterile area of an aerodrome, or in the cabin of an aircraft.

Checked baggage

Prohibited Items listed in Appendix A (where applicable) must not be in checked (hold) baggage intended for transport by air. The list below shows, item by item, what is permitted where.

Firearms & ammunition

Declare any firearm and ammunition in checked baggage to the airline at check-in, and to Customs where necessary. They must be unloaded and packed in a locked hard-sided container. Firearms are not permitted in the cabin.

If an item is confiscated

If an item is confiscated at screening and is permitted in checked baggage, it may be transferred to your checked baggage — unless you have no checked baggage, in which case it will be confiscated.
